she said baby, forever, but i don't like to be alone
They're so used to me ordering 2 Route 44 diet cokes with vanilla & lime at Sonic that when I only ordered 1 this afternoon, they made me 2 anyhow. Since it was their mistake, I got both for $1.06 total. Sweet.

We still only have one vehicle, so Sean had to take the Jeep to work. Luckily my friend Ashley was going to Pier Park with just Tyler today, leaving the baby at home with her sister. So she had room for Cash's car seat and was able to drive us too.

Mr B was tickled to pieces to go fir a ride in a car with his friend Tyler! When he realized we were actually driving away with them, he just started to laugh and laugh. He kept pointing to Tyler and saying "Yi-yi-yi-yi-yi" which is what he calls Tyler.

They both pointed out all the big trucks, red and green lights, and boats we passed on the way.

We saw Charlotte's Web, the 2006 Dakota Fanning version, which really is quite a good adaptation. Cash liked it, he wore himself out snorting every time Wilbur was on the screen. He likes Charlotte too. THankfully he's not old enough for me to be forced to explain her death to him. Ashley had to do some consoling of Tyler at that point.

It was another uneventful weekend, really. We watched The Reader which I actually think I liked better than the book. I found the story interesting when I read the book in 2004, but had some issues with the writing style. Since the movie eliminated my one complaint, I was able to focus more on the characters. It's hard to say you "enjoyed" such a sad film, but it was very well done.

Friday I felt crummy and tired, but we had to go to a work picnic for Sean, so I gutted that out. It was HOT, I was crabby. Cash had a super fun time, there was a big wading pool set up, a playground, and other kids, so he was happy as could be. Plus he had my mac & cheese to eat for lunch, so he liked that too.

Friday night Sean was doing schoolwork so Cash & I ate ice cream with more fresh blueberries and watched Pink Panther cartoons. There's worse ways to spend an evening, right?

Saturday we went to Target, Books a Million & Petsmart. We met a little boy at the train table who was almost 4 and too shy to even play at the table with Cash. So sad, he had been bullied by some bigger kids recently and since then he is too gun shy to even try to play with a little 2 year old. I invited his mamma to join the playgroup, hopefully she can get him some more opportunities to interact with nice kids and he can get past his bad experience. It just broke my heart to see him hiding behind his mom and being scared of sweet little Cash!

Naturally we hit Petsmart to see the cats, birds, frogs, crabs, fish and doggies having hair cuts. Cash has also recently discovered the rodent section. He thinks they are all "mouse".

Sunday we had church and just as I was taking Cash into childcare, I heard the coordinator saying they needed to put out a call for volunteers to help. So again, I offered to stay in Cash's room since they were one of the rooms that was overcrowded.

As soon as I got in, I was again mobbed by little girls plus Jacob, and the lady working (who I know from MOPS) said "My goodness, aren't you the celebrity?" I do love those kids! There was a set of twins named Laura & Olivia who decided I was awesome, especially Olivia, she was all over me every time I had half a lap to sit on or a free neck to hug. Sweet girls! I told the coordinator when she commented on how often I end up working in there that I honestly get more blessed by those kids than I do by going to the service Nothing against our pastor by any means, but I just really do have my heart touched by the way the kids enjoy my company and give their love so freely!

After we gave everyone back to their parents, Cash & I went to the mall and did a mystery shop at a jewelry store. They failed on so many counts, I had to check "no" on probably 3/4 of the things they were supposed to have done when I filled out my report. I felt kind of bad for the guy, here he thinks he's on his way to a $7000 ring sale and instead he's on his way to a write up.

He did end up asking for my first & last name as well as Sean's, which I was totally unprepared for. Of course gave him fake info, but because I wasn't expecting to be asked, I had to think fast and did a poor job of it. I made us into Jane & Shawn McGaines.

Anyhow, it was an easy $13. Then we went and spent $2 of it on the coin operated rides and a handful of M&Ms.

Yesterday there was a big ol' storm in the morning, but it cleared up in time for us to meet our friends at BK for lunch and then head over to feed the goats. Cash is so funny with baby Lily, he just loves to try to make her laugh, wants to carry her infant carrier (Ashley is nice and lets him "help") and rock her in it. He gets very alarmed when Ashley puts a nursing cover on to feed her, he's all worried about where the baby is & if she's okay. Ashley always has to lift over the cover a little to show him that baby is fine, she's just eating.

From there we went to feed the goats. It was a nice cool day because of the storms, it was lovely to not be melting in the heat. Plus the goats aren't so stinky when the sun isn't shining on them. Cash had to point out all the "BAY-BEE" goats and made an extra effort to feed those ones.

So often he likes to just stand and eat while the goats look on hungrily. Meanie.

But he always shares in the end

I'm sorry, only one pretzel per goat, sir.

He thinks it is HIGH-larious when the goats nibble at his shirt

So he does this, trying to get them to do so

FiL came into town tonight, he and his fiancée (or maybe she's been bumped back down to girlfriend status, it's not clear) had plans tomorrow with some friends of hers who were here on vacation, so they took us out to dinner. We had seafood, it was yummy. And bless FiL he is driving Sean to work in the morning so I can have my vehicle during the day and just have to pick Sean up in the afternoon.

Hmmm...what's this?

*CHOMP*

Heyy....

I think I like these things after all!

*CHOMP*CHOMP*

Yep, that's pretty good stuff

Savoring the banana

This part is not so tasty

He's funny, he only wants a banana once a month or so and then he loses interest in them again. Though he will always gladly eat a peanut butter & banana sandwich.

Speaking of, you can settle a debate between Sean & I...

I like peanut butter on my banana, but I don't want banana and bread at the same time. So the sandwich is out. But banana with peanut butter is normal!

Cash loves Peanut butter & honey or peanut butter and banana but he seems to find all 3 a little overwhelming and won't eat his whole sandwich if I do that.

Personally I like a nutella & banana sandwich. Mmm.

I think I only consider it weird because it is not very British, and I should not have really answered as I have never had one, and I love all the ingredients!

The photos of the goats are so cute! That is so sad about that little boy, hopefully he will come to your playgroup and regain his confidence, to be suffering before school has even started is awful!!

PB & Banana is normal, it was one of my childhood staples. Mom made them all the time. Given, I hate bananas now (the texture... quit being able to eat them in my teens), so I haven't had PB+Banana in years. These days, it is either PB+Honey (devine!) or PB+Homemade Strawberry Jam (nom...).

The sandwich is only redneck or weird if you fry it.

Peanut butter and honey sandwiches are awesome, too.

nutella and banana is so yummy! There is a store I went to that serves only PB sandwiches and they specialize in different flavor pbs [chilli, strawberry, white chocolate, chocolate, anything that would sound yummy]. Sadly it is not near by so I don't go often but when I do it's such a guilty pleasure!

like a good elvis fan, i love pb + b sandwiches!

i go to ryan's work golf tournie every year. some years i look forward to it, other years i go under duress. at the end of the golf day its a bunch of drunken sunburnt rig pigs. not my idea of fun.

i would love to mystery shop. when i was a server at moxies (where i met ryan) we had to always be on the lookout for mystery shoppers. at our work if you got less than 90% you got canned. its not rocket science though so unless you totally slack ass, you should pass. was he rude or just not following the company's protocol? $7000 ring. nice!

for years my mom worked in the nursery at church. (like over 20 years). when she was released from that position she was happy to get back to her own sunday school but within a year asked to be put back in the nursery because she loved it so much LOL.
